Every so often on our blog we are going to share an Africa Memory and so I hope that you don't get too bored.
Have you ever been so focused that you become oblivious to the things around you? This happened to me last summer when Erik and I were in Africa. We went to a Wild Life Preserve, which is kind of like a zoo except no cages. We were walking and as is my habit, my face was stuck behind the camera and I was snapping pictures like crazy! While we were walking there was an ostrich and our guide was explaining how dangerous they can be and I obliviously kept adjusting my lens trying to get the perfect shot. After I got this shot I went to look at it through the LDC screen and then made the mistake of looking up. I was about a foot away from the ostrich! With a little scream that never made it all the way up my throat I jumped back and nearly fell on my kaboos! Luckily Erik was there to catch me, although he nearly failed in this because he was laughing so hard.

Funny, funny kids with a great perspective. That's what you are. "I agree with Mother," Franklin (it's a family name on two of Erik's lines) Einstien (smart man, which your child will be) Guthrie, is an awesome name. Halloween = special spirit!

Hey guys!! I am soo happy you guys are on blogger.... i was looking forward to seeing you on july 28th. Oh well!! Africa sounds like it would be soo much fun, yet kind of scary. When sam and I first were married, i told him about you guys and we even tinkered(sp?) with the idea for a few months because it seems like such a neat thing to do and be doing service all in one. Well, you are pregnant...right?? if so, congratulations!!! that is exciting. We are anxiously waiting to get pregnant!! if you aren't i must be thinking of some other cousin...lol. Where are you two living now?? It said you got a home. That is always exciting!! To finally have your own place. Well, I hope you two are doing really good. I will ttyl!!
