"Rain Rain Go Away...

Come again another day!"
Wait no....Please Stay!!
So it has been threating to rain all day, and it just started sprinkling! I love that fresh smell of rain falling! The only sadness in my heart has to do with the poor high school students who are graduating tonight! I hope it doesn't rain on them...oh well I wasn't planning on going anyways! So for now I I will relish the nice breeze blowing through my house, the smell of rain washing the earth clean, and perhaps the opportunity to fulfill a dream, and dance in the rain!

Long Over Due....

Update! So it has been a long time since I've updated on the happenings at the Guthrie Household...so here goes...
Jack is 6 months old! WOW! It's crazy how fast time flys...It seems like only yesterday I was telling Erik (and myself) oh the pains will just go away if I can just go to sleep...ha....

Jack 1 day oldFirst Bath...

Jack 6 moths old(Can you see the giant squash next to Jack?) That is what Erik has been up to...growing things! He is so proud of his garden and I am so happy that I have a husband who wants to have a garden and loves to take care of it!

Erik loves to get down and play with Jack, I just couldn't resist snapping this shot when they were playing the other day! (And yes my son is wearing yellow..it's a very "manly" color right?)

Next, Rachel and I had the opportunity to go hang out! My parents had some extra tickets to The Man With the Pointed Toes, and Erik couldn't come so Rach and I had a good time hangin' out with the folks.
Last but certainly not least in the lineup is Cinco de Mayo! The Stapley's hosted a super fun Cinco de Mayo party at their house complete with food, people, and a pinata! You can't see the pinata in this picture because it is flying across with porch, but this picture is hilarious...why because well...take a gander at Tyler....

Garrett Wayne Russell

Have you ever met that one kid that just made you smile for no reason! That kid that has the infectious laugh? The one with the Bambi eyes that just breaks your heart? The one you love even though you just met?

For me that was Garrett. Garrett became ill over the weekend and passed from this life to the next Today! I have been crying since last night when I heard that things weren't good! Please join with me in prayer for the Russell family as they struggle with the loss of their son, brother, and best friend!

Below is a copy of the post from Bekki!

"Garrett Wayne Russell, the sweetest, cutest, happiest little guy you could have ever known left this life Thursday, May 1, 2008. Although we know we will be together again someday we will miss him terribly.

Thank you all for your prayers and kind thoughts on our behalf.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 3rd in Mesa at the Mesa South Stake Building of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day saints. The building is located in Mesa on Southern ave. between Stapley and Gilbert (1415 E. Southern Ave. 85204).

The viewing will be from 1:30-2:15 with funeral services at 2:30pm.

All are welcome."

Flip

Have you heard of Flip? My sister has one and her eight year old is the director/producer/cameraman..oh and he stars in the productions as well.
Most of you know that I work for a wedding video company, so it may surprise you that I do not own a video camera. There a few reasons for this
1) I don't shoot the typical "Home Video" style. Since we try to avoid this in my line of work it makes it very hard to shoot well boring.
2) I have access to some of the most aweseomeist (is that even a word?) video cameras! So why own one?
3) They are EXPENSIVE!
I would love to get a rather cheap low quality camera like the FLIP! Blogger is being dumb and won't let me upload any pict's of it but
Click here to see one and if you want a chance to win one of these little camera's... but to be honest I hope you don't win because that would mean that I don't...but good luck to you nonetheless.

Work Work Work

I spend a lot of time where I am right now...sitting at the computer. I have had several different people recently ask me what it is that I do. It is hard to describe the My Wedding Film Experience in Words, it is so much easier to describe it in film. I thought I'd post the first minute or so of the project I am working on currently. Enjoy!

I have some great memories of the this game! My favorite being when we were playing with the family one day and the letter was P and the subject was Farm Animals, it went something like this.

To give my dad credit he got mixed up on the letters and everything under "Farm Animals" he used an H instead of a P! Love ya POP!

Pavlov...

Ivan Pavlov is often remembered as the brilliant scientist whose research earned him a Nobel Prize! He is most famous for his research on "Classical Conditioning". He trained his dog salivate at the song of a bell. As brilliant as he is, I must say that I feel sad for the dog! For I often feel like the dog!"What?" you ask? Well let me give you an example of some of the things I am classically conditioned to do. (I apologize because most of my examples have to do with the bathroom or food.)

When it hit's 12 o'clock I am hungry..even if I just ate!
Whenever I am doing the dishes....I have to go to the bathroom.
When I am brushing my teeth at night...it is a given, I have to go to the bathroom.
After I feed Jack in the mornings....I have to go to go to the bathroom.

I would go on but I thought I'd save you the pain of it!

What are you classically conditioned to do?
